The Jets drafted USC’s Chuma Edoga in the third round this year, but they could still look at grabbing another tackle in the first round next year to try and solidify their line around Sam Darnold.

Left tackle Kelvin Beachum is in the final year of his contract anyway, so there need will soon be there. Both Edoga and Washington’s Trey Adams could play either tackle spot, and Adams could even slide in to guard at the next level.

The Jets had a strong offseason, spending big cash to land Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley as they look to make a big push up the AFC East standings. I think they’re probably still a year away from potentially competing for a playoff berth, so the 2020 offseason will be spent shoring up positions of need to prepare for that playoff push.

There are some legitimate injury concerns surrounding Trey Adams, most notably with a back injury that cost him the first 10 games of the 2018 season. He’ll need to prove that he can stay healthy next season, but he’s one of the most talented overall players in this draft class.

He’s a mammoth at 6-foot-8, and could ultimately push both Little and Thomas for the top tackle position.
