This will be the first official pick for the Las Vegas Raiders, and the crowd will undoubtedly be attentive with this selection, ready to unleash boos or cheers depending on whose name is called by Roger Goodell.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Raiders went after a quarterback here if Jon Gruden doesn’t think that Derek Carr is the signal-caller to take Las Vegas to the next level. Armed with an extra first round pick, I think the Raiders might be the biggest threat to move up the draft board to select Tagovailoa next season.

As is, with the top three quarterbacks off the board, the Raiders might look to address some other needs. They finished dead last in the NFL in sacks in 2018, and while they addressed that need by selecting Clemson’s Clelin Ferrell in the first round this year, they’ll need more help across the board.

Ohio State consistently puts out high end edge rushers, and Chase Young is the next in line. He had a breakout season as a sophomore, racking up 9.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles-for-loss to help lead the Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl victory.

He’s got excellent size at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, and Young is likely to test very well at the combine. He’s an outstanding athlete that has the potential to lead the NCAA in sacks next year.
