3. Georgia (Sept. 21)

“The Georgia Game”. That’s what everyone affiliated with the Notre Dame Football program (including students and fans) will be calling this matchup on Sept. 21. The Irish will head down to Athens, Ga., to take on the Bulldogs in what will be one of the most influential games of the season — and that’s for both teams.

Georgia’s star quarterback Jake Fromm will be in his third year starting under center. Additionally, D’Andre Swift will be back as well for the Bulldogs. Those two players, alone, will be a handful for this Notre Dame defense. It will be up to defensive coordinator Clark Lea to stop the Bulldogs’ dominant running game.

Only if the defense comes up big will the Irish have a chance because frankly the Georgia defense will be tough to score on. Although Ian Book played well last year, there were times throughout the season when the offense was nearly nonexistent. Kirby Smart’s defense will be the toughest the Irish will face all year.

With the game being played in Sanford Stadium, a Notre Dame win is unlikely.

Final: Notre Dame 10, Georgia 24 (2-1)
