4. Virginia (Sept. 28)

Despite a tough away loss against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Fighting Irish will have no problem bouncing back at home against Virginia.

The Cavaliers have actually been making a lot of noise lately in the world of college sports. But, that’s only because their basketball team went from being the first team ever to lose to a No. 16 seed as a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament to winning the National Championship a year later.

As for football, Bronco Mendenhall’s team finished third in 2018 in the Coastal Division of the ACC, with an 8-5 overall record and 4-4 in conference play. This year will be Mendenhall’s fourth year leading the Cavaliers. 8-5 was by far his best year at Virginia and one could very well expect Virginia to continue to improve their record in 2019. However, its game in South Bend is unlikely to yield positive results.

If the Irish lose at Georgia, they will undoubtedly be looking to redeem themselves against Virginia. If they beat Georgia, they will be on a high, knowing they will have realistic chance at another perfect season.

Final: Notre Dame 28, Virginia 17 (3-1)
