Texas A&M football had a common draft school-record seven players drafted during the 2019 NFL Draft. How does each player fit in with their new team?

The Aggies said goodbye to quite a few players at the end of the 2018 season. Seven of them ended up drafted and many others have signed as free agents.

Linebacker Tyrel Dodson signed with the Bills and his counterpart Otaro Alaka signed with the Ravens, joining defensive tackle Daylon Mack who was drafted and will be discussed later. Defensive end Landis Durham is headed to Los Angeles to join the Rams. Tight end signed with the Steelers. Offensive guard Keaton Sutherland is heading to Cincinnati. Long snapper Austin Frey is headed to Kansas City and kicker Daniel LaCamera is heading to Jacksonville to join former Aggie Josh Lambo.

Now that we have covered those guys, let’s talk draftees and how they fit with their new teams.

Possibly the most shocking and yet most exciting draft pick for Aggie fans was 12th Man Cullen Gillaspia being picked up in the seventh round by the Houston Texans with pick 220. The Texans didn’t have a full back on the roster in 2018 and it seems that Cullen Gillaspia could fill that role for the Texans. He is the first 12th Man to be drafted in Texas A&M history. “We’ll start him off on offense as a fullback and he was an excellent special teams player there also,” head coach Bill O’Brien said. “Was a 12th Man at Texas A&M. I think everybody understands what that means there. Came to our local Pro Day. Our scouts did an awesome job getting him to our local Pro Day and we’re excited to be able to add him to our team.”
