Texas A&M. Erik McCoy. 1. player. 15. . Center

Erik McCoy is one of the most reliable players that has come out of Texas A&M in years, especially on the offensive line and because of that he could be sliding right into a starting position. With Saints center Brain Unger retiring, it would make sense for a drafted center to possibly become the plug and play starter. Of course, that isn’t for sure as they picked up Nick Easton in free agency at the position as well.

His reaction to the pick, as you can imagine, was euphoric:

Saints fans, you should be excited to have this guy on your team and that is putting it mildly. He ran a 4.89 40-yard dash at 303 pounds, which was the fastest time at the combine for all offensive linemen. Erik McCoy allowed just one sack during his entire three years at Texas A&M. That’s 1,528 career pass-blocking snaps during those three years and only one sack. This guy is a monster. You surely got the steal of the draft Saints.
