2. Jon Greenard, BUCK

Jon Greenard has yet to play a single meaningful snap for the Gators, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the players most likely to be selected in the 2020 draft.

Before transferring to Florida, Greenard cemented his status as a successful quarterback-hunter for the Louisville Cardinals. Commanding the full attention of ACC defenses, Greenard enters his final season ready to ensure SEC defenses pay him as much attention.

Greenard is preparing to take on the role of buck in Todd Grantham’s aggressive defensive scheme. Last year, Jachai Polite exploded onto the scene at the buck position – this after very little production in the previous two years of his career. If not for several off-field concerns, Polite might have been selected early in the first round. Greenard – who already has been plenty productive – has the talent and opportunity to exceed Polite’s success in Grantham’s system and receive a higher draft grade.

That is, if he can stay healthy.

Greenard missed all of last season due to injury and also missed significant time the year before. If he’s able to stay on the field, Greenard could easily rack up enough sacks and quarterback pressures to warrant the full attention of NFL scouts.
