Arkansas football is looking for a turnaround after Chad Morris’ first season and there was some light at the end of the tunnel this spring.

Chad Morris was brought in at Arkansas to turn things around after Bret Bielema got a little too content with average seasons.

Obviously a 2-10 campaign wasn’t the ideal start for Morris in 2018, but no one expected anything to happen overnight. His team ranked 115th in scoring, which is supposed to be his calling card, and 108th in scoring defense. It’s safe to say his 2-10 record was earned.

Things should be looking up in year two, though, especially after getting some of his players into place and putting together a decent spring.

Which Razorbacks are trending up after a strong spring?

player. 844. DE. Eric Gregory. 5. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Freshman

Entering spring ball, Eric Gregory was just trying to make a name for himself and potentially set himself up for some early playing time as a member of the defensive line rotation. He may have done just that and more after a strong spring.

The early enrollee led all defenders with two sacks during the spring game and looked like one of the most consistent contributors in the trenches.

Chad Morris has raved about his four-star true freshman and so have Gregory’s teammates. When you come from IMG Academy, the expectations are going to be higher on you and that doesn’t seem to be negatively affecting Gregory early on.

If you’re looking for a kid who earned himself some extra playing time in year one, Gregory is your guy.
