Auburn and LSU games are often unpredictable. LSU has won the last two meetings, but the last three games between the two have been decided by a grand total of 10 points. LSU stunned Auburn in Jordan-Hare last season, erasing an eight point fourth quarter deficit and winning on a walk-off field goal by Cole Tracy.

Auburn’s returning players are sure to have the image of LSU celebrating on their field burned into their retinas, and they would like nothing more than to return the favor in Baton Rouge. That’ll be a tall task, though, as Auburn is working on a nine game losing streak in Death Valley. It last won there in 1999.

Another thing working against them is that LSU is likely to be even better in 2019, returning the second most production in the SEC. Ed Orgeron is looking to build off of a 10-win season, hoping his Tigers can take the next step toward playoff contention.

LSU is likely to look much different than Auburn is used to seeing too, as Orgeron is hoping to push the tempo on offense next year. With the return of senior quarterback Joe Burrow, and a slew of talented playmakers at the skill-positions, LSU might put up a lot of points next season if the offensive line comes together.

Defensively, this will be the same old LSU, and the unit could be even better despite losing Devin White in the middle. Led by Grant Delpit, the Tigers might boast the best secondary in college football, and they’ll make life difficult for a young quarterback in one of college football’s toughest environments.

Pick: LSU 24, Auburn 13 (5-3, 2-3)
