At one point in time, Justin Young was appearing in numerous games per season. He played in nine as a freshman, then four as a sophomore and just one as a junior, finding himself buried on the Bulldogs’ depth chart at defensive end.

But something has clicked this spring.

The senior finds himself as one of the No. 1 defensive ends on the team. He has benefitted from departures from some of the top guys from last year’s elite defense, but he has also worked hard to get where he is — nothing is given in this program.

Young was one of the forgotten contributors over the last two seasons and has seen his numbers dwindle, but the coaching staff has raved about his work ethic this spring and he looks poised to finally reach his potential.

The redshirt senior has just eight career tackles and two tackles for loss, but expect those numbers to multiply as he sees action with the ones.
