Florida Football: 3 potential transfer destinations for Chris Steele
3. Oklahoma
Back when he was being recruited, Oklahoma was one of the main schools showing Chris Steele love. He took his first official to Oklahoma and raved about the atmosphere and the fact that the fans love their team, which is something he appreciated more than anything.
Chances are, Steele won’t end up back in the SEC so a team that he may have been considering in the recruiting process like South Carolina may be out and Oklahoma could take that place.
The Sooners were in his top five schools near the end of his process and were always talked about as a dark-horse to land him, but there just wasn’t as much of a connection for him like there was to Florida. However, he rated his visit to Norman a 10 out of 10 and he could look back at the Sooners and realize they need all the defensive backfield help they can get.
While Steele likely won’t be eligible in 2019 pending some sort of waiver, he could slide right in and take a starting spot in 2020. He has the talent and Oklahoma has the need, so this would actually be a good fit.
Does he want to join a defense that’s re-tooling, though? If he wants to be the star, then most likely.
