Spring ball is in the books and Texas football has high hopes for the 2019 season. Which five Longhorns are trending up after spring practices?

If you’ve followed college football over the past decade, one question seems to pop up just about every year, “Is Texas back?”

The Longhorns beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl and the “Texas football is back” believers were almost deafening. The Longhorns looked like a program on the rise, beating Alabama’s main competition in the SEC in impressive fashion.

Texas now heads into a summer where expectations are at an all-time high, especially after spring ball where a number of guys put themselves on the map.

Which five Longhorns are trending up after spring ball?

Besides absolutely destroying Baker Mayfield on Twitter following Texas’ win in the Red River Rivalry game, Keondre Coburn is known by Longhorn fans as a guy who can be a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive line.

The nose tackle spot will be heavily contested this fall with Coburn battling it out with Gerald Wilbon and after a strong spring, the former looks like the favorite to land the starting job.

Wilbon, a senior, will have his hands full trying to stay ahead of Coburn but the redshirt freshman looked great in the spring game with the No. 1s and had a big spring. One of the most common words that described Coburn’s play over the past couple of months during spring practices is “disruptive” and that’s exactly what fans like to hear.

Keep an eye on this kid.
