If you want to read about Jalen Green’s impressive road from quarterback to defensive back during his high school days, Houston Chronicle has you covered. It’s an interesting story about how he was too talented to keep on the bench so instead of sitting him behind a returning quarterback under center, Green’s high school coach moved him to defensive back.

It turns out that was the best move that could have happened for Green.

Not only did Green shake the “I’m a quarterback only” mantra, but he became one of the nation’s top cornerbacks in the 2018 class, ranking No. 6 at the position, per 247Sports.

Now he’s entering his sophomore season with the Longhorns and appeared in 11 games as a true freshman, recording two tackles. Tom Herman has challenged him to be more aggressive and he looked just that during the spring game, charging at would-be pass-catchers and jarring the ball loose on numerous occasions and just looking much more aggressive.

After spring ball, it’d be a shock to see Green anywhere but the starting lineup when the 2019 season kicks off.
