Some believe Malcolm Epps is best served as a tight end with his monstrous 6-foot-6, 245-pound frame, but he needs to improve his blocking skills in order to make that change back from receiver, but after a strong spring, the coaching staff could just keep him in place.

With Lil’Jordan Humphrey gone, Epps could get some valuable targets in the passing game with that big body and basketball background which highlights his athleticism.

The Longhorns can’t be too upset with a red zone target like Epps joining the receiver fold this fall and he has been one of the top performers in the corps this spring. He is tough with the ball in his hands and difficult for just one defender to bring down. His physical style is what impresses coaches and what’ll make him a nightmare for opposing defensive backs in 2019.

Brennan Eagles is another underclassman to watch at receiver for 2019 after a decent spring, but Epps could be that breakout candidate the Longhorns are looking for.
