When Keaontay Ingram suited up for the Longhorns last fall, no one knew what kind of impact he’d have on the offense right away. He finished the season third on the team in carriers — if you count Sam Ehlinger — and second in rushing yards with 708 and three touchdowns.

Ingram averaged 5.0 yards per carry and showed just why he should be labeled the running back of the future for Texas and they have a truly special back in the making.

Tom Herman even said that Ingram was the most improved player on the team by the end of spring ball and even bulked up 15 pounds this offseason while keeping his same speed and quickness. He’s become even tougher to bring down and can still break off the long runs here and there.

If this kid can break off runs like this and shake off arm tackles, he’s going to be a load in the Big 12 for years to come.

The 2019 season could be huge for Ingram as he tries to become that next great Texas running back and he certainly has all the tools to be just that.
