4. The Irish have weapons upon weapons

If you thought Notre Dame would be short on weapons after losing Dexter Williams and Miles Boykin, you’re sadly mistaken. The Irish have plenty returning to an offense that looked like one of the best in the Brian Kelly era.

Chase Claypool is back and looked like a player ready to take that next step this spring and Cole Kmet, too, should be an interesting option in the passing game. He looks poised to be the next great Notre Dame tight end and had fans and coaches raving after the spring game.

Joe Wilkins Jr., Kevin Austin and Michael Young are all young, talented wide outs with plenty to prove but have all the talent in the world.

In the backfield, the Irish have even more with Jafar Armstrong as the projected starter who can do a little of everything and Tony Jones Jr. can be a nice backup along with Jahmir Smith who Brian Kelly called a “truck” during spring ball.

Ian Book has plenty of weapons at his disposal on the offensive side of the ball.
