Lester Cotton was a rotational piece in the offensive line while he played for the Tide. He’s the kind of guy that doesn’t start, but he is crucial for a team’s success. Injuries on the line are practically inevitable. Having a rotational piece like Cotton makes those injuries manageable as opposed to true backups.

No. 67: Joshua Casher

Joshua Casher was one of the best centers in his class, but he never truly turned into the player that some expected him to be. He was an asset in terms of linemen depth, but he never got a lot of time with the Tide in terms of performance on the field.

No. 68: Galen Richardson

Once again, Richardson is the best option at a jersey number with very few options. When in doubt, show a little recency bias and pick the latest player. Sometimes, this is more of an art than a science.

Ryan Kelly is the best center in Saban has ever had. He was a part of some of Alabama’s best offensive lines. His contributions helped him get drafted by the Colts in the first round. When he was drafted, he joined one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. He was the piece they built around. After they found their stud at center, they were able to fill in the other pieces to become one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.
