Remember when I said Seth Williams had the best day of all receivers during the spring game? Well, that may not have been 100 percent factual. While Williams did the most to solidify himself as the No. 1 receiver, catching all of his targets for over 100 yards and two touchdowns, Matthew Hill may have made the biggest splash.

Williams won the MVP of the spring game for the Tigers but Hill had slightly better numbers, catching five passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

After redshirting last season, Hill showed that he can be a valuable contributor for the Tigers and give whoever starts at quarterback another option outside of the starters. He may not have earned a role with the No. 1s, but Hill looks the part of a breakout candidate for the fall.

The offense had plenty of pieces step up to the plate this spring and that had to ease Gus Malzahn’s mind after losing Jarrett Stidham to the NFL draft.
