Alabama football has been a recruiting powerhouse for over the past decade. How do the Tide’s recruiting classes rank against each other?

The best way to build a dynasty in today’s era is through recruitment. Coaches have to be able to develop the talent on the roster, but they also have to have talent on the roster to begin with. To do so, you have to have quality scouts, a great program to pitch, and coaches that can recruit well.

The Alabama Crimson Tide have had all of these things over the past few years. The legacy in Tuscaloosa carries a lot of weight in recruiting. High school players want to play for Nick Saban and his staff in the house that Bear Bryant built. He’s also had great recruiters on his staff for his entire tenure at Alabama. Kirby Smart, Tosh Lupoi, Pete Golding, and others have sold players on becoming better people, winning championships, and making millions of dollars in the NFL over the past few years.

Due to this recruiting success, Alabama has had some stellar classes. They are almost always near the top of the team rankings for a new class. They get top talent, fill needs, and succeed at every level of the process. There is at least one Alabama legend in practically every recruiting class.

Due to this unparalleled success, it seems to make more sense to compare Alabama’s recruiting classes to other Alabama recruiting classes. Here’s how the past 10 recruiting classes would stack up against each other.
