This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given the season Michael Pinckney just had in 2018, but he had one heck of a spring and led a talented group of linebackers.

Not only did he turn heads all spring but he reinforced the fact that he’s one of the most underrated players in the country and could be the top linebacker in the ACC for 2019. He has Shaquille Quarterman and Zach McCloud beside him, but he should continue to stand out as even Pro Football Focus rated him the highest-graded returning linebacker in the conference.

On top of that, he was one of the best linebackers against the pass last season and he continued to improve this spring with expectations at a whole new level.

Miami will soon have another defensive star in the NFL after next season, especially if Pinckney continues his upward trend that started in the early offseason and continue through spring. He looked great during the spring scrimmages and only strengthened his case as one of the country’s top linebackers.
