While Cam’Ron Harris was impressing as an under-the-radar sensation in the backfield, DeeJay Dallas was expected to have a strong spring as the projected No. 1 running back, and he did just that.

Did he solidify himself as the top option in the backfield? It’s hard to say, especially with the type of spring Harris had behind him, but there’s plenty of belief that Dallas can be the No. 1 guy and surrender some carries in certain situations to Harris or even Lorenzo Lingard.

Each Harris and Dallas had 13 carries during the spring game and while the former did more with the opportunities, posting 72 yards, the latter finished with 51 and looked comfortable in that No. 1 role. The word around the program is that Dallas is going to be the team’s No. 1 back and showed this spring why he deserves those extra carries.

Miami has one of the best backfields in college football and fans will soon find out that there won’t be a major difference between Dallas and Harris and even Lingard. This run game is going to make ACC defenses pay all year long.
