3. Rebels get two 1,000-yard rushers

In recent years, Ole Miss has been most known for the passing game. Yet in 2017, Jordan Wilkins rushed for over 1,000 yards and in 2018, Scottie Phillips would have reached 1,000 yards, if not for a late-season ankle injury instead he finished with 928. That said it should be well within Phillips’ grasp to cross the 1,000 yard mark in 2019.

More from Ole Miss Rebels

This prediction is basically two in one because in order for Ole Miss to have two 1,000-yard rushers, I believe that also means that freshman sensation Jerrion Ealy makes it to campus and proceeds to light it up.

Rich Rodriguez’s offense, as mentioned earlier, favors the run game and with two dynamic backs, the ground game could be deadly. Again this all hinges on Ealy even making it to campus as he is a highly thought of MLB prospect.

Even without Ealy it is doable for Ole Miss to get two 1,000-yard backs with Isaiah Woullard and Snoop Conner impressing in the spring, but Ealy is much more of a program-defining back. So if Ealy makes it to Ole Miss this fall, expect the run game early and often from the Rebels.
