8. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

Justin Fields is a similar player to Sam Ehlinger in play style, but he appears to be more of a mobile threat. However, Fields hasn’t had the opportunity to prove himself as a starting quarterback after being second string behind Jake Fromm at Georgia his freshman year. This season, he will get his chance.

Fields chose to transfer to Ohio State after this season, and he will be the starter. With Dwayne Haskins gone, Fields is set to take over. Despite minimal time his freshman year, there is no reason to believe he will not be able to perform well at Ohio State. He is still one of the top quarterbacks of the country, and he has a ton of offensive talent around him.

If Fields can become the player we all expected him to be at Georgia, he will carry Ohio State to a New Year’s Six game at the very least. If that happens, he will also be in consideration for some award. He also just appears to be that smooth kind of player that you’d want to have on your team.

The ability to both throw and pass at a high level is very useful, and it would potentially earn Fields consideration for a cover. He is also predicted to be the best player in his conference, which would be another boost in terms of area likeness. While SEC athletes fight over each other, he would earn votes by himself to be the cover athlete, much like how Denard Robinson did it.

Assuming Justin Fields fills out his potential, he would be a great candidate. Also, he will be in college for at least two more seasons, doubling his odds.
