Ohio State Football: Post-spring 2019 game-by-game predictions
Its easy to sleep on Indiana after yet another 5-7 season and 27 years without a single bowl victory. Tom Allen was expected to change things with his defensive-minded approach, but the Hoosiers ranked near the bottom of the Big Ten in most statistical categories on that side of the ball in 2018.
Will things change in 2019? It’s possible, but Ohio State is going to make sure the defense struggles yet again with a 150-yard game from JK Dobbins and Justin Fields popping off for 300 yards. We may even see Jaelen Gill getting into the action with 50-plus all-purpose yards of his own — he’s my pick for 2019 breakout star.
Defensively, the Buckeyes will contain Peyton Ramsey who had nearly 2,900 yards and 19 touchdowns a year ago but it was his interceptions that kept him from being a top-tier Big Ten quarterback. The Buckeyes will haunt him all day long, picking off three passes and sacking him five times.
Ohio State will open the Big Ten season with a nice road win and hand the Hoosiers their first loss of the young season.
Final Score: Ohio State 37, Indiana 17 (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
