Ohio State Football: Post-spring 2019 game-by-game predictions
In a rematch of last year’s Big Ten title game — no, that’s not a typo — Ohio State will travel to Evanston to face the up-and-coming Northwestern Wildcats.
Pat Fitzgerald has done an incredible job with this program and he’s even been labeled as a potential top-10 coach in college football. If he were to take a job at any other program, he’d likely be contending for titles every year, but he’s content with remaining with his alma mater and putting the Wildcats on the college football map.
Northwestern came just shy of winning the Big Ten title over Ohio State last year and shocking the nation, but it’ll get a shot at revenge following a Buckeye bye week.
Justin Fields and Co. will come out rejuvenated, though, and the offense will get back to the basics and make life difficult on Paddy Fisher and the Northwestern defense.
A 350-yard passing performance will be the difference here as the Buckeyes use a big fourth quarter to down the upset-hungry Wildcats.
Final Score: Ohio State 35, Northwestern 24 (6-1, 3-1)
