Following their second bye of the season, Ohio State will host a Maryland team that gave the Buckeyes a tough time in College Park last season. Anthony McFarland ran wild over the Buckeyes which nearly led to a mammoth upset before Dwayne Haskins and the offense shut the door.

Honestly, no one expected that type of performance from the Terrapins last season, especially during a year in which they finished 5-7, but it only takes a tiny spark to get a team going and McFarland was just that — he’ll be back as a starter. But he won’t have the same luck this time around as the Buckeye defense will hold him to under 75 yards and 3.7 per touch.

Coming off a disappointing performance against Jonathan Taylor, the Buckeye front-seven won’t be so kind to the Terrapins and Josh Jackson will get a major “welcome to the Big Ten” moment with his first pass of the game being a pick-six.

This game will go to show Mike Locksley just how far he has to go to make his program a national contender, let alone a Big Ten favorite.

Both K.J. Hill and Binjimen Victor will be beneficiaries of a big game from Justin Fields, each catching at least five passes for over 100 yards.

Final Score: Maryland 9, Ohio State 38 (8-1, 5-1)
