SEC football fans cannot wait for the return of the college football season. What are some realistic goals for each SEC team in 2019?

As it always seems to be, the SEC will be one of the toughest conferences in the Power Five. With Alabama coming off of a National Championship Game appearance, Georgia a few plays away from getting to the Playoff themselves, and a few other teams on the rise, the SEC will be even better this year than the last.

LSU, Texas A&M and Florida all hope to grow in 2019 with relatively new coaches. Ed Orgeron has recruited well for the Tigers, and he hopes to develop that talent into a formidable opponent against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Jimbo Fisher has taken advantage of the recruiting pipelines that come with being in the state of Texas, and he is biting on Alabama and LSU’s heels. In the East, Florida is hoping to finally upset their division foe in the Georgia Bulldogs.

In the third tier of the SEC, teams like Mississippi State and Auburn are looking to rebuild their programs in the wake of losing their starting quarterbacks. Missouri and Ole Miss are not at the same level as the Bulldogs and Tigers, but they also lost their starting quarterbacks. Of course, Missouri was able to sign Kelly Bryant, the former starting quarterback for the Clemson Tigers. Bryant has the talent and leadership experience to help take Missouri to the next level.

At the bottom of the SEC, teams like Tennessee, Arkansas and Vanderbilt need to do something in order to remain relevant in the conference. Tennessee will have its second year of the Jeremy Pruitt Era, Pruitt being a former Saban assistant.

As the season approaches, teams will be setting the standard for their programs. With those standards come some goals for each team. Obviously, it is a goal for every team to win the SEC and make it to a big bowl game. However, that isn’t necessarily realistic for every team. In this article, I’ve come up with a realistic goal for every team in the SEC.
