Suffering through a rough first two seasons with Florida State, Khalan Laborn looks ready to take that next step at the running back position. After a strong spring, Laborn seems to have cemented himself in the No. 2 slot at running back behind only Cam Akers.

Laborn was redshirted as a freshman, didn’t have great things to say about Jimbo Fisher and that coaching staff and then was given an opportunity to prove himself as a redshirt freshman in 2018 by Willie Taggart and Co. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a knee injury and finished with just a 37-yard reception and a few kick returns.

Now that he’s gaining strength back in that knee and even participated in contact drills this spring, he looks like a budding star.

We may say that about most guys on this list, but Laborn just has that excitement level on the offensive side of the ball and that spark that the offense needs. Akers had a rough season last year and didn’t really have a ton of help behind him — even with Jacques Patrick back — but Laborn should assume that No. 2 role and develop a nice 1-2 punch.
