4. Michael Carmody, 4-star OT

Teams always can use more help on the offensive line, and Notre Dame is no exception. You have to prioritize the tackle position in any class. Michael Carmody will be a quality right tackle that doesn’t give up on plays.

The right tackle position will be depleted by the time Carmody steps on the field, with two of the top three on the depth chart being juniors. If he has to move over to left tackle, he would be able to do that as well.

Carmody is not the only tackle prospect that Notre Dame is going after, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Tosh Baker has already committed to play for the Irish. Baker’s a natural left tackle, so he would fit in well as the other bookend across from Carmody on a future offensive line.

The four-star tackle is far from a lock to join Notre Dame, however. Right now, Notre Dame has gotten 44 percent of Carmody’s 247Sports Crystal Balls and Penn State comes second with 33.

With so many remaining undecided, it’s truly a toss up to decide where Carmody will play college football. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Brian Kelly put the full court press on recruiting Michael Carmody this summer to help lock him up before the start of the season. It’s no guarantee, but it is certainly a priority for this team moving forward in the recruiting process.
