5. Quandarrius Robinson, 4-star OLB
Quandarrius Robinson is one of the best players in the state of Alabama. It is crucial for Alabama to hold onto the in-state talent for their classes. It’s what makes a top-10 class into a first-place class.
In Alabama’s base 3-4 defense, the outside linebacker position becomes incredibly important. It’s where players like Courtney Upshaw, Christian Miller, and Terrell Lewis have made a name for themselves. Quandarrius Robinson has the chance to be the next star at the position.
Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis are both expected to be in the NFL Draft after this season, so there will be a need at the position looking forward. You still have Eyabi Anoma, but he is one stellar season away from declaring for the draft as a junior.
Quandarrius Robinson has the potential to be a sack master with the Tide. His size and length will be very useful at the position. If he chose Alabama, he could probably get significant reps as early as his sophomore year. At a position that rotates talent as often as outside linebacker, it is crucial to get one or two top-level athletes at the position in almost every recruiting class.
Another reason why Robinson is a key target is because of the other teams he is considering. If he doesn’t choose Alabama, many believe he will go to Auburn. A chance to steal a recruit from an in-state rival is a great opportunity, and the Tide need to seize it.
