2. What happens if this team goes 8-4 or worse?

The fans and administration of Texas A&M were not at all pleased with eight win seasons in Kevin Sumlin’s tenure. Consistently, the team would start off hot and promising only to fold halfway through the year and once again finished unranked and disappointed with a mediocre bowl game that they lost more often than they won, it seemed.

With Scott Woodward leaving for LSU, many were worried that Jimbo Fisher would go with him as Woodward was a big part of what brought him to Aggieland in the first place. He has now put that rumor to bed, but that’s not where the questions stop for Fisher.

This season has a hectic schedule that includes games at Clemson, at Georgia, at LSU and against Alabama. That’s no easy task, especially with Georgia and LSU back-to-back to close out the year.

What happens if this team goes 8-4, or worse? Does Jimbo get the Sumlin treatment? Do people start calling for his head and figuring out the buyout? Do people start wishing he went to LSU?

That’s an interesting question that, of course, won’t be answered until the end of the season, but we should probably start thinking about it now. Do we freak out or chalk it up to a hard-fought season against a plethora of quality opponents?
