Tennessee Football: Can Vols flip 5-star LSU commit Rakim Jarrett?
Rakim Jarrett may currently be committed to LSU, but the five-star wide receiver is eyeing an official visit with Tennessee football in the near future.
Jeremy Pruitt has been working hard to turn Tennessee football around and even though he didn’t have the ideal first season in Knoxville, things are looking up.
The second-year head coach has actually been a solid recruiter and he may be close to pulling off one of the biggest flips in the entire 2020 class with five-star receiver Rakim Jarrett.
According to reports, the LSU commit is planning on taking an official visit to Tennessee “soon” and could be on flip watch shortly after.
The visit comes as a surprise to some as he has been committed to LSU since late-April and seemed to be 100 percent invested in the Tigers. Lately, though, his social media pages have been lacking LSU-related content and his Twitter bio doesn’t claim him as a Tiger commit.
Although this could be nothing, there’s a good chance he’s taking this visit to Tennessee, which was considered a favorite to land him before he picked LSU, because he’s keeping his options open — that’s something that Ed Orgeron may not be the biggest fan of.
Jarrett is one of the nation’s top receivers and 2020 recruits, ranked the No. 19 overall player and third-best wide out in the class, per 247Sports.
This seems like a recruitment that’s far from over and a flip could be in the works sooner rather than later, especially if a visit to Knoxville officially happens.
