Michigan football has lost yet another player to transfer and this time it’s at a loaded position as Oliver Martin has entered the portal.
Jim Harbaugh has gone from diving into a swimming pool after landing Oliver Martin to probably drinking a tall glass of milk to get over the pain of losing him just a few years later.
In case you don’t know the backstory, when Martin committed to Michigan’s 2017 class, Harbaugh came to visit him while he was at swimming practice. The news got Harbaugh so excited that he dove into the pool fully-clothed and it turned into yet another one of his viral videos.
Fast forward to June of 2019 and Martin has decided to enter the transfer portal, becoming the eighth Wolverine to do so since the end of the 2018 season.
Per a source, Michigan wide receiver Oliver Martin is in the transfer portal.

For those who watched him rise in the recruiting ranks after a dominant performance at Nike’s The Opening, they had to believe Martin was going to have a huge impact in Ann Arbor. However, he just didn’t seem to fit the playing style — or personality — of Jim Harbaugh.
The quiet receiver from Iowa might be headed back home after the decision to enter the portal, but the decision to leave Michigan shouldn’t be much of a surprise given the amount of talent ahead of him on the depth chart.
Sure, losing Martin hurts because he would have been in the two-deep this fall, but he doesn’t exactly have a ton of production to his name — just 11 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. On top of that, the depth chart is loaded with guys like Donovan Peoples-Jones, Tarik Black, Mike Sainristil (just a freshman who already passed him up) and Ronnie Bell.
Martin could soon be playing against Michigan if he does decided to transfer back home to Iowa and play for the Hawkeyes. He’d be a perfect fit in Kirk Ferentz’s offense and could actually soar up the depth chart there.
