3. Georgia Bulldogs

Many have called Georgia “RBU” in recent years, and Evans could be the next piece in a treasure trove at running back. Since Todd Gurley, it seems as if every starting running back from Georgia has succeeded in the NFL. If the NFL is his true goal, it doesn’t get much better than Georgia.

One question with Georgia is if they will continue to play at the same level they are currently at. I would assume Evans would want to see the Bulldogs take the next step if he wants to go to Athens. Georgia still hasn’t gotten past Alabama, and that matters for a recruit that wants to play for the best of the best.

When Evans commented about leaving Texas out of his top 5, he said that Texas “barely beat Georgia.” He asked how Texas would do against and Alabama or Clemson as well. That wasn’t an intentional diss against the Bulldogs, but it certainly implies that he doesn’t think Georgia and Alabama are on the same level.

Georgia will likely lose D’Andre Swift to the draft at the end of this season, but they recruit the running back position heavily. It won’t be easy for Evans to earn carries as a freshman, but that comes with joining a great team. If they had no quality running backs on the depth chart, they wouldn’t have made in to his top 5.

There hasn’t been anything to really connect Georgia to landing Evans, but he put the Bulldogs in his top 5 for a reason. They recruit the running back position so well that it would be irresponsible for them not to be considered a top-3 option for him.
