North Texas was one of the pleasant surprises last year and it was mostly because of Mason Fine.

The Mean Green finished 9-4 and second in their division.

Last season Fine put up very solid passing numbers throwing for 27 touchdowns and 3,793 yards. He even thrived against Arkansas, a member of the SEC, leading his team to a 44-17 victory.

Fine’s campaign in 2018 was so successful that North Texas recently launched a #6ForHeisman campaign on social media.

North Texas may not be a powerhouse, but they have a legitimate Heisman dark horse.

However, Fine will need to put up monster numbers and most likely lead the Mean Green to an undefeated season in order to be taken serious.
