2. LSU Tigers vs. Texas Longhorns (Week 2)

Where: Austin, Texas

Texas wants to be back. Heck, they might be back. Either way, they will certainly be back if they can beat LSU at home in Week 2.

This game has crazy implications on the CFP. Although neither team has made it to the Playoff, both have a good chance to this year. Texas will bring back Sam Ehlinger, their star at quarterback. They also will have their fans in the stadium, which helps give them an edge.

It’s safe to say that neither of these teams will go through their conference schedules unscathed. LSU has to play in Tuscaloosa against the Crimson Tide, and Texas has Oklahoma on their schedule.

Even if they can beat the Sooners, they would likely have to beat them again in the Conference Championship game. No matter how everything pans out, I believe the loser of this game won’t make it to the CFP. If either of these teams want to make it through their tough conference schedules, they will have to be good enough to beat the other.

This will likely be one of the top games in the country, and both teams are on the rise. With it being so early, it will go a long way in setting the landscape of the college football world.
