Starting cornerbacks: Myles Jones, Deboine Renfroe
Backups: Charles Oliver, Clifford Chattman, Elijah Blades, Moses Reynolds
This is probably one of the more wide open positions on the team as of right now that will come down to summer ball and fall camp to make any sure decision on who those corners will be. As it stands right now, Jones and Deboine Renfroe have the inside track to be starters as they have shown the most growth and ability, but watch out for JUCO transfer Elijah Blades — he could change the game in a hurry in terms of the depth chart.
Starting nickel: Larry Pryor OR Roney Elam
Backup: Clifford Chattman

I’ve got Larry Pryor starting in this spot unless the news of Derrick Tucker’s arrest shakes up the safety depth chart and moves Pryor into that spot. He appeared in all 13 games, compiling 34 tackles, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. As of right now though, it’ll be Roney Elam and Pryor rotating through here with a little bit of Clifford Chattman sprinkled in.
Starting safeties: Leon O’ Neal, Derrick Tucker
Backups: Keldrick Carper, Larry Pryor
This depth chart hasn’t changed since before spring practice, but a recent arrest for assault may shake things up for starting safety Derrick Tucker. Nothing is confirmed in terms of a suspension or anything like that, but it will be interesting to see how Jimbo Fisher handles the drama of the offseason with the Aggies.
In terms of Leon O’ Neal, he’s got the position pretty much sewed up since he showed up big time in the Gator Bowl against NC State. Look for him to continue to put his money where his mouth is in terms of smack talk online and make the move into a full time starting position.
