The 2019 college football season is right around the corner and these second-year head coaches could have the most success at their new programs.

Typically when you get a new head coach in college football, there’s a year or more or adjustment period. The coaches tasks include having to bring in a new staff, install a whole new system for his team and then finally recruit players that fit that desired system.

So while the big name head coach typically brings in a lot of hype to a floundering program, first year coaches typically are well below expectations that fans have. In recent history, coaches such as Tom Herman and Mark Richt saw huge leaps in their programs fortunes in their second seasons.

After the adjustment period that is year one, many coaches begin to flourish with their guys in year two.

With that said, here are the five coaches I believe can put their team in contention in 2019.
