College Football: Top 30 skill position players for 2019 season
By Dakota Cox
Everyone is preparing for the upcoming 2019 college football season. Who will be the top skill players on offense for 2019?
College football has evolved in recent years. Long gone are teams that filled the trenches and won games 14-10. In today’s day an age, offenses are thriving.
Whether it’s in the passing game or the running game, it seems that every great team has at least one star on offense. The top teams in the country have three or four. In order to win, teams have to put points on the board, and that comes down to players at skill positions.
Ideally, a team could have a great running back and wide receiver. However, it is a necessity to have at least one to lead the offense. Whether it’s Jonathan Taylor from Wisconsin or Jerry Jeudy from Alabama, teams revolve around running backs and wide receivers.
Let’s not forget about tight ends, either. Although some teams still use them more as blockers in the run games, many of the top tight ends are becoming passing threats. Iowa had two starts at tight end last year that both got drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
When you look at the top skill players of 2019, logic dictates that you have to rank them against each other. This list includes players at running back, wide receiver, and tight end. They span every major conference, but there are also some guys from smaller schools. Some teams have multiple stars, and others only have one.
So, who are the 30 best skill players in college football heading into 2019? Here’s my list as we get closer and closer to the start of the regular season.
