Tylan Wallace was one of the best receivers in the country last year, and it felt as if he flew under the radar. In a conference that’s known for high-scoring offenses and easy defenses, Wallace thrived. he caught 86 passes for 1491 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also had a touchdown on a carry, bringing him to 13 touchdowns on the year.

Wallace was mostly a deep threat for Oklahoma State as a sophomore. His route tree is impressive, and he has speed that leaves Big 12 corners in his dust. It’s not top-level speed, but it certainly gets the job done.

Even if a safety comes over, Wallace is strong enough to make a catch in double coverage. His skill set is perfect for the Big 12. He’s basically impossible to cover.

My only concern with Wallace is what his next step will be. Gaining 1,491 yards in a season is incredibly impressive, but it doesn’t leave much room to grow. He already averaged 6.6 catches a game.

Another concern with the team is that their quarterback Taylor Cornelius graduated. They will have the Hawaii transfer Dru Brown to likely start for the team, but it’s not a guarantee that this will be an upgrade for the team. I’m not saying Brown can’t get the job done, but there are questions as to whether or not he can reach the same volume that Cornelius had last season. If he can’t, Wallace might suffer as a result.
