Florida State: Cam Akers, RB

Cam Akers should have had a massive year in 2018. In his freshman 2017 season, he broke Florida State’s freshman running record, going for 1,025 yards and seven touchdowns. He slumped last year, but it is tough to place all of that blame on him.

The Seminole offensive line ranked in the 100s in a majority of Football Outsider’s metrics.

Despite that slip, Akers is still expected to be the primary weapon on this offense. James Blackman has some valuable experience at quarterback, and grad transfer Alex Hornibrook transferred over from Wisconsin during the offseason. Both have been good, but not great so far in their careers.

The best version of this Florida State offense will undoubtedly be the one that relies heavily on Akers’ legs.
