Georgia Tech: Kirvonte Benson, RB

The Georgia tech offense will be one of the bigger unknowns in 2019. For a decade, this offense has been recruited to run the triple option. Now, cold turkey, they will switch to a modern scheme.

This change means an offense with holes. The top three quarterbacks were all recruited to run the option. The leading receiver last year had 15 catches. Jalen Camp is the leading returner at wideout, and he had 11 catches. The Yellow Jackets do, however, have a plethora of running backs.

Kirvonte Benson, Jordan Mason, and Jerry Howard Jr could all make noise in 2019. Benson is, however, the senior-most of the three. He rushed for 1,053 yards in 2017, but missed 2018 with an ACL injury.

As this team transitions, it seems a safe bet that Geoff Collins will try to win by establishing the run and playing defense. The benefactors of that will be this cast of running backs, led by Benson.
