Arkansas Razorbacks: Darren McFadden, Lance Alworth, Clyde Scott, Billy Ray Smith Jr.

The Arkansas Razorbacks football program has been around since 1894. Since then, they have produced one claimed national title and an unclaimed one. In addition, they have had 24 All-Americans, 715 victories, and 13 conference titles.

Darren McFadden

One of the better college running backs we have seen in a long time, Darren McFadden ran over, and around SEC defenses as a member of the Razorbacks. A two-time Doak Walker Award winner, McFadden was three-times named All-SEC and twice named an All-American. The two-time SEC Offensive Player of the Year is still No. 2 all-time in rushing yards in conference history.

Lance Alworth

Lance Alworth was an outstanding athlete during his time at Arkansas, starring for both the football team, as well as the track team. An All-American wide receiver and return man for the Razorbacks football squad, Alworth is a member of both the Pro Football and College Hall of Fames. He was named to Arkansas’ All-Century Team back in the early 1990s.

Clyde Scott

Clyde Scott was born to play for Arkansas, growing up in Smackover, Arkansas, and earning that nickname during his time with the school. On the football field, Scott was a terrific player on both sides of the ball, being named all-conference three times and an All-American in 1948. He helped the Razorbacks to their first-ever bowl game victory and is currently enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Billy Ray Smith Jr.

During his time at Arkansas, Billy Ray Smith Jr. was a punishing linebacker, racking up nearly 300 tackles over the course of his career. A two-time All-American, Smith was the team captain in 1982. He is currently a member of not only the Arkansas Hall of Fame but the College Football Hall of Fame as well.
