Auburn Tigers: Bo Jackson, Cam Newton, Aundray Bruce, Pat Sullivan
The Auburn Tigers have a storied history in terms of success at the college level, producing three Heisman Trophy winners and two claimed national titles. With over 760 wins as a program, Auburn ranks within the top 20 programs in college football history in the category. The Tigers have produced 30 All-Americans.
Bo Jackson
One of the better athletes in the history of sports, Bo Jackson was not only a standout baseball player for the Tigers but was one of the more dominant running backs in college football history. The Heisman Trophy winner for the 1985 NCAA season, Jackson was a three-time All-SEC player, a two-time All-American, and his No. 34 jersey is retired by the school.
Cam Newton
Cam Newton spent only one season as a member of the Auburn football program, but it certainly was one of the best in program history. Newton led the Tigers to the second national championship in school history, took home the Heisman Trophy. He played so well that the Carolina Panthers made him the No. 1 overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Pat Sullivan
A three-year starter for Auburn, Pat Sullivan became the most prolific passer in school and NCAA history during his time with the school. Posting a 26-7 record, Sullivan was not only an All-American in 1971, but also won the Heisman Trophy. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame 20 years later.
Aundray Bruce
Coming out of Auburn, many believed that Aundray Bruce would be the next Lawrence Taylor. That was how dominant a player he was for the Tigers. A two-time All-SEC player, as well as a 1987 All-American, Bruce was the No. 1 overall selection in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. While people consider him a draft bust, his time with Auburn was something special.
