Georgia Bulldogs: Herschel Walker, Aaron Murray, Charley Trippi, Frank Sinkwich

The Georgia Bulldogs have been around since 1892. Since then, they have produced some of the biggest-named players in the history of college football. With over 800 wins and two national titles, the Bulldogs have produced 35 All-Americans to date, and have taken home the Heisman Trophy twice.

Herschel Walker

The greatest college football player of all time, Herschel Walker looked like something out of a video game when he was the feature back for the Bulldogs. A three-time All-American, Walker led the Bulldogs to the 1980 national title and won the 1982 Heisman Trophy. He finished his college career with over 5,000 yards in three seasons, to go along with 49 touchdowns and better than a 5.0 yards per carry average.

Aaron Murray

Aaron Murray became the Georgia starting quarterback as a redshirt freshman. By the time he was done, he had set the SEC record for passing yards, as well as touchdown passes. Murray threw for over 13,000 yards while throwing 121 touchdowns against only 41 interceptions. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 Capital One Bowl. Murray was an absolute warrior for the Bulldogs and deserves his spot on their Mount Rushmore.

Charley Trippi

Charley Trippi was a special player for the Bulldogs, establishing himself as one of the better college football players, as well as baseball players during the 1940s. A national champion for the Bulldogs football team, Trippi finished No. 2 in the Heisman voting in 1946, but was still an All-American, the SEC Player of the Year, and won the Maxwell Award. Trippi was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1945 NFL Draft.

Frank Sinkwich

A teammate of Charley Trippi during those dominant years in the 1940s, Frank Sinkwich is one of two Bulldogs to ever win the Heisman Trophy. An incredible back, Sinkwich was twice named an All-American, won the 1942 Heisman Trophy, and ended up being the No. 1 overall pick in the 1943 NFL Draft. He would go on to be the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1944 and his No. 21 has been retired by the Bulldogs.
