4. Travis Etienne, Clemson

The thing holding Travis Etienne back from New York is the man that hands him the ball. If Trevor Lawrence had not burst onto the scene last year and taken over the college football world, a lot more people would be talking about number nine.

In 2018, he rushed for 1,658 yards, averaged 8.1 yards per carry, and scored an amazing 24 touchdowns. Again, if it weren’t Trevor Lawrence, along with the victory in the title game, a lot more would be made about that touchdown total.

Both Etienne and Lawrence have at least two years of eligibility remaining. It’s not unrealistic to think that, a la USC in the mid-2000s, these two players could take turns winning the Heisman Trophy.
