3. Jafar Armstrong’s play-making ability

Losing Dexter Williams hurts and that comes just two years after watching Josh Adams head off to the NFL, but Notre Dame’s backfield usually just reloads.

More from Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Last season, Jafar Armstrong, a former receiver, transitioned nicely to running back and took over the No. 3 spot behind Williams. He rushed for 383 yards and seven touchdowns and even took that next step this spring as he molded into what looked to be the team’s No. 1 back heading into the 2019 season.

Besides having elite play-making abilities, Armstrong seems to have his team’s support and has made a solid impression on the coaching staff. Not many receivers can make this type of transition so quickly and effortlessly but Armstrong is extremely talented.

That dynamic play-making ability in both the run and pass game will aid Notre Dame’s offense and help turn it into one of the best in the nation.
