1. Ian Book continues to improve

If spring was any indication of what’s to come, Notre Dame is in good hands with Ian Book under center. He looked even more improved than he did from 2017 to 2018 and it all started with his accuracy. He was making a solid impression on the coaching staff and that has to give everyone a good feeling about the offense heading into 2019.

Book had a solid junior year where he passed for 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns with only seven interceptions while rushing for another 280 yards and four scores, but there’s an overwhelming feeling that he’s just scratched the surface.

If Book takes another step in 2019 and passes for 3,000-plus yards with 20-plus touchdowns like he’s capable of, the Irish will have one of the most feared offenses in the nation.

We all saw what the offense could do when Book took over last season but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The now-senior quarterback will have plenty of returning targets and he looked much better this spring. His progress alone could make Notre Dame a playoff favorite.
