Louisiana opens the year with a big matchup against an SEC opponent in Mississippi State which makes for a tough start to the season. Luckily for Ragin’ Cajuns, they follow that up with winnable games against Liberty and Texas Southern. Louisiana has to travel to Ohio for a tough MAC opponent before the start of conference play.

The Ragin’ Cajuns start conference play against Georgia Southern before back to back games against Sun Belt powers Appalachian State and Arkansas State. Louisiana will wrap up the first half of conference play with a home game against Texas State.

The back half to conference play is more manageable for Louisiana. However they do start off with back to back road trips to Coastal Carolina and South Alabama. Following that they wrap up the season with home games against Troy and in state rival ULM.

Prediction: 7-5 (5-2 Sun Belt)

Louisiana will start off with a loss to Mississippi State before notching a couple of wins against Liberty and Texas Southern. The Cajuns will have another loss to Ohio before starting conference play.

The conference schedule is book-ended by tough conference opponents with two of the first three against Appalachian State and Arkansas State. Louisiana will end the year with Troy and up and ULM.
