Coming off of a bye, Ohio State will play a rematch of last season’s Big Ten Championship. The Buckeyes won that matchup by a score of 45-24, despite the Wildcats fielding a strong team that won nine games a season ago. That final illustrated the gap between the elite of the conference, and the rest.

Starting at quarterback for Northwestern will be Hunter Johnson. He was five-star recruit who signed with Clemson in 2016, but much like Justin Fields, was part of a very crowded quarterback room at his first school.

Johnson will now be the unquestioned man in Evanston, and he, along with a Wildcats team that returns a moderate amount of experience, could be poised to contend for the Big Ten West again.

Prediction: Win (6-1, 3-1)

This won’t be an easy road trip. Northwestern has been playing above standard expectations, so the atmosphere at Ryan Field should be an electric one as the Buckeyes come to town.

Ohio State will, however, be coming off of a bye week, and they’ll be re-focused and re-energized. Northwestern’s offensive line also hasn’t been a strong suit, so the Buckeyes will take advantage and get to Johnson in this matchup.
